HCR- Hill's Canine Rehabilitation

Hill's Canine Rehabilitation, Grendon Underwood, Bucks is a safe, friendly, professional centre and all the team are members of either the Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA), The Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP), the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP). We have been established since 2009. We then rebranded in 2018.
We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and achieving the best results possible. We allow plenty of time for your dog to get used to its surroundings and we never rush them into the session. All dogs partaking in hydrotherapy will be required to wear a canine life jacket or a simple y shaped harness which we will provide. The length of each swim will depend on the condition, ability of your dog and the recommendation of your vet.

All dogs treated at Hill's Canine Rehabilitation must have gained their vets CONSENT (not direct referral). This safeguards your dog from any medical conditions that may be present and would dictate the level of treatment. Many dogs do come to us through direct veterinary referral. We have a simple form that needs completing prior to your visit this can be found on our website, feel free to call us and we can fill this in over the phone. We are confident to liaise with your vet and will send regular progress reports with regard to surgical and rehabilitation cases. My staff or I will always be in the water with your dog as this allows immediate support, provides extra resistance and reassures the dog if needed. It is a very effective way of monitoring the dogs condition whilst in their session.

Meet the Team!

Director and Canine Hydrotherapist

Having always been passionate about working with animals, Katherine went from doing a weeks work experience to having a Saturday job. She has been the owner of the business since 2018, when it rebranded from Hamilton's Canine Hydrotherapy. She holds a current Canine First Aid certificate, and has completed theory modules in Canine Anatomy, Spinal Conditions and Orthopedic Conditions. She regularly attends seminars and lectures relating to hydrotherapy to further her knowledge and expertise in this field of exercise and rehabilitation. More recently she has obtained a level 4 Underwater Treadmill qualification and has completed an aqautic massage course.

She spends her free time with her Field Spaniel Finlay going for nice walks and trying new enrichment activities.

Canine Hydrotherapist and Veterinary Physiotherapist

Jazz has had a long-standing passion for animals – from a young age spending any free time she spent riding horses and in the countryside with canine companions. This inspired her to pursue a career in animal therapy graduating in 2019 from Harper Adams University with a BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy. She began her own veterinary physiotherapy business at the start of 2020, treating equine and canine patients with a particular interest in remedial exercise. She is a member of IRVAP and NAVP and has completed further qualifications in Canine Hydrotherapy. She is really excited for the opportunity to use her hydrotherapy and physiotherapy skills to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our canine patients.

Veterinary Physiotherapist/Canine Hydrotherapist

Hi, I’m Diana and I hold a Master’s in Veterinary Physiotherapy as well as a qualification in canine hydrotherapy. I’ve always been passionate about animal welfare and rehabilitation, which has driven me to gain hands-on experience through working and volunteering in kennels and with animal charities. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of animal care and recovery, allowing me to apply my skills in physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help animals regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

Canine Hydrotherapist Assistant

After a varied career, which started with completing a degree in Fashion Design, Charlotte realised she wanted to work with dogs. She made the move to do this by working at a dog kennels, specialising in difficult dogs, where she learnt a great deal about behaviour. Charlotte came to work here in October 2021 and has enjoyed learning more about the health of dogs, as well as completing her canine first aid certificate, allowing her to treat dogs, under supervision. Charlotte is the owner of two energetic Boxer dogs, Amber and Henry, who did not take to hydrotherapy and so are very much a work in progress!

Charlotte is currently studying towards her Level 3 Qualification in Canine Hydrotherapy.

Canine Hydrotherapist Assistant

Laura is currently completing her level 3 course in Canine Hydrotherapy and has started working part time at Hill's Canine Hydrotherapy. After many years wanting a career caring for dogs, Laura discovered a love for hydrotherapy through work experience and soon began a course to become a hydrotherapist! She is enjoying learning and intends to continue her studies once qualified to expand her knowledge on canine care.

“Highly recommend Katherine and all of the team. One of my dogs is not a natural swimmer but she is getting more confident with every swim thanks to all the positive encouragement she gets. Brilliant for keeping them fit for Agility.”
